Cork first for healthcare business as IDA announces new company arrival and existing firm expansion
Cork is the destination of choice for companies seeking a skilled workforce, supportive ecosystem and strategic advantages, as evidenced with further new arrivals of overseas business choosing to invest in Cork.
IDA Ireland announced that QbDVision selected Cork as the location for its first EU office, creating an initial 15 jobs. With a surging user base in the EU and thriving biopharma market, Cork and Ireland was a natural choice for QbDVision’s expanding global team as it seeks to take advantages of the regions local innovation.
The company is headquartered in Dallas, making it the second arrival from Texas in recent times as office support firm SupportNinja recently announced a move into Cork.
The firm will be joined by Movano Health who are brining an initial 20 jobs to their Irish subsidiary. The firm is a purpose-driven healthcare solutions company at the intersection of medical and consumer devices and makers of the Evie Ring, who began operations in Cork in 2021. Their Rubicon Centre location in Cork currently employes five people, with recruitment underway to hire engineers specialising in integrated circuit design and firmware/embedded software to work towards the summer launch of the Evie Ring, its first commercial product.
Minister Simon Coveney TD said

The positions will be spread across a range of sectors and indeed cities, demonstrating Ireland’s position as an excellent strategic choice for global business, both in terms of our geographic location and our wealth of diverse and highly skilled talent. I wish all involved the very best in their respective new ventures.”
