Two Cork restaurants join Michelin star list as county cements its ‘culinary capital of Ireland’ status

Two Cork restaurants have been added to the Michelin Guide, securing new one and two Michelin star locations in the county and giving increased options for those who opt to live in Cork.

Terre at Castlemartyr Resort is an intimate offering that won praise for its local Irish ingredients.  The East Cork 5 star resort has welcomed some high profile stars in the last number of years, with Terre’s new rating sure to attract more interest to Chef Patron Vincent Crepel offering.   Highlights include Irish deer stakes and speciality strawberries.

Cork secured a two Michelin star accreditation at Baltimore restaurant dede, a popular Turkish restaurant in Baltimore’s Custom House. Head chef Ahmet Dede serves up spiced lobster bisque, cod cooked with buttermilk and potato to delighted guests.

They joined existing Cork Michelin guide members Chestnut in Ballydehob, Bastion in Kinsale, Ichigo Ochie in Cork City, Goldie in Cork City, Cush in Ballycotton and Saint Francis Provisions of Kinsale, to make a total of eight restaurants making the grade.

Cork is famed for being the culinary capital of Ireland, with a diverse range of high quality food offerings to suit all tastes and pockets.
