BLARNEY CASTLE AND GARDENS – The infamous story of the Blarney stone has travelled the world, and led to many travellers arriving in the picturesque town. SPIKE ISLAND CORK – Get locked up at Ireland’s Alcatraz – Spike Island Cork is famous as Ireland’s Alcatraz, an Island that has been home to four prisons over the last 400 years, including the largest prison in the world in the 1850’s. Its rich history goes much deeper, as an island Fortress, 7th century Monastery and a social island home for centuries. Today visitors can explore its 19th century and modern prison cells, it enormous 1804 Fortress, and its beautiful island walks.
