BLARNEY CASTLE AND GARDENS – The infamous story of the Blarney stone has travelled the world, and led to many travellers arriving in the picturesque town. But kissing the famous stone for the gift of the gab is not the only attraction at the Castle. Its world class gardens and surrounding town of Blarney make the journey worthwhile. See –

SPIKE ISLAND CORK – Get locked up at Ireland’s Alcatraz – Spike Island Cork is famous as Ireland’s Alcatraz, an Island that has been home to four prisons over the last 400 years, including the largest prison in the world in the 1850’s.  Its rich history goes much deeper, as an island Fortress, 7th century Monastery and a social island home for centuries.  Today visitors can explore its 19th century and modern prison cells, it enormous 1804 Fortress, and its beautiful island walks.  There are also over a dozen museums for history buffs, and a cafe and gift shop on site.  See –

CLONAKILTY BLACK PUDDING VISITOR CENTRE – Foodies will appreciate a visit to the home of one of Ireland’s most famous brands, Clonakilty Black pudding. CRAWFORD ART GALLERY – The Crawford Art Gallery sits right at the beating heart of Cork City and includes highlights of Irish art, like Seán Keating, Harry Clarke, Norah McGuinness, Mainie Jellett and Jack B.
