Enterprise Ireland report 5% increase in client company employment in Cork

Enterprise Ireland client companies based in Cork saw a 5% increase in employment figures in 2022, adding over 1100 jobs in the region.  The increase is in line with national growth which saw the creation of 19,660 new jobs by Enterprise Ireland client companies. The jobs growth translates into a net increase of 10,841 jobs last year.

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney TD, and Enterprise Ireland announced the news, highlighting growth in Cork and an overall positive trend for the region in 2022.

Martin Corkery, Director of Enterprise Ireland’s South and South East region, said:

“2022 was a strong year with our client companies creating 19660 new jobs and growing net employment by 5% nationally..

Growth was strong in Cork with 1152 net new jobs in the region”.

The body responsible for developing Irish business globally also reported 161 new early stage company approvals, 102 research and development approvals in excess of €100k, and 283 companies entering a new market.
