Make it a Christmas to remember in cultural Cork with ‘Corkmas’

Christmas in Cork is a magical time and never more so with the launch of ‘Corkmas’. The city centre’s traditional Christmas lights and Christmas trees are shining bright, and this year they are joined by a magical city centre light show.

Solas will turn all eyes towards Emmet Place as this all-new magical immersive light experience in the public plaza that will appeal to all ages. Solas. The light show is right beside Cork Cities amazing Opera House and a wealth of cafes, restaurants, bars and shops.

Details of pop up events and opportunities are available on Cork City Council’s website, and visitors can use the interactive map to learn more – click here:

The much-loved 30 metre wheel is also returning to Grand Parade and the city’s retail, hospitality and cultural sectors are all gearing up to create Cork’s unique and magical Christmas experience.

Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Kieran McCarthy said:

“Christmas in Cork always brings a strong sense of nostalgia and a time for family or friends. Come into Town. Meet up and catch up with old friends. Take in a different view of the city from the top of the ferris wheel. Enjoy the Christmas lights and the new Solas experience. My call this year to Corkonians is to re-discover town, shop local and enjoy the experience.”
