Cork gets Euronews recommendation as a top destination to visit

Cork got a Euronews recommendation as a visit worthy destination in a recent article by the respected outlet. 

The group highlighted the merits of tranquil Fitzgerald Park, a quiet haven close to the city centre with striking waterside features and a central lake.  The park is also home to the Cork Public Museum and has a cafe on site, making for a great destination to spend a morning or afternoon.

The article also highlighted Blackrock Castle Observatory, where visitors can partake in star gazing at the historic building, which is the oldest surviving structure still in use in the region. Its impressive 16th century facade is worth the visit all on its own.

Whiskey lovers were directed by the article to enjoy the Jameson experience in Middleton, which is home to the worlds largest pot still. The outfit is looking forward to its 200 year anniversary in 2025. While city centre Rebel City Distillery offer immersive tours that educate the visitor on a variety of drinks and techniques.

Culture vultures were directed to the Cork Opera House and Crawford Art Gallery, which are all just part of a vibrant visitor scene in Cork City and County.
