7.5% increase in jobs supported by Local Enterprise Offices in Cork North & West and South Cork
Local Enterprise Offices Cork North & West and South Cork are supporting over 433 small businesses and 2,272 jobs, figures released for 2022 revealed. Cork County Council run LEO’s saw almost 500 new jobs created and net employment gains. The overall figures highlight a 9th consecutive year for jobs growth in the County
The total national figures revelated that Local Enterprise Offices in Ireland are supporting 37,863 jobs. This is spread across 7,221 companies, with net jobs’ creation of 3,447, a 10% national increase on 2021.
Local Enterprise Offices across Cork supported hundreds of small businesses
LEOs in Cork provide a range of services to businesses, including funding supports to small businesses with programmes such as the Trading Online Voucher, Lean for Micro and Green for Micro along with training and mentoring. Many more were helped to pivot online and adapt their products and services. Training and mentoring is also a popular resource offered by Cork LEO’s, from financial skills and product innovation to starting your own business and maximising online presence.

Local Enterprise Offices located in the local authorities and funded through Enterprise Ireland support thousands of small Irish businesses and entrepreneurs nationwide. Since their establishment in 2014 they have been for the first stop shop for entrepreneurs and small businesses and providing a range of supports including financial, mentoring, training and sector specific expertise to help guide businesses at any stage of their development.
